Hi all you knitter's and any bloggers , who found this blog by accident. At the moment, I'm giving thanks that I'm not bald! You see I've been tearing my hair out trying figure out all the "techie stuff" to improve the "eye candy" portion of my blog. I have some yarn pics I want to share. I'm learning, but my efforts have not yet led to being "blogalicious"!!! It's 10:53pm and I'm still pictureless. Well, I guess it's a learning curve and I'll get it or blog will be about wigs for the blogging challenged! (I WILL CONQUER THIS). Anyway, I shouldn't complain so much, because I have a lot to be thankful for: family: even with those not-so-hallmark moments: friends - gotta have em. They can keep you sane or drive you insane (sometimes it's a short ride)!: career: I love what I do-just not where I 'm doing it at the moment , and of course, my beautiful-spoiled cats (yes, I have the requisite cats many knitters seem to have 8-> Last, but not least that large stash of yarn with visions of fo's in dancing in my head. (oops, not quite the silly season yet!)
I promise to have pictures relating to my knitting obsession up soon! Until then, I wish everyone a happy thanksgiving.
p.s. "Knitters, PUT THE NEEDLES DOWN! There'll be plenty of time to knit after dinner. Besides, you don't want get any gravy or cranberry sauce on all that beautiful yarn!

Is that a tube top?
I brought my knitting to work today, to get some more of the Harry Potter scarf completed, at lunch. There are a number of talented craft people that work with me. So, You never know what you'll see or learn about. someone one could be working on weaving a basket, making jewelry, or knitting, of course!! We've even drafted a new employee into knitting. She has quickly become obsessed with it and is busily working on her first scarf. She already has plans for her next project(you go girl!).
Well, back to Harry Potter... We often eat in the Atrium of the building I work in. There are lot's of windows and sunlight. This is where to my horror, the Harry potter scarf was not the dark shade of red and gold I thought, but gold and... "yikes"... a reddish, pinky raspberry!!! If this were Hogwarts, there'd be one big "flick and swish" and bye-bye scarf. I think I should have worn Harry's glasses and my own, or used a bright flashlight, when I shopped for this yarn. Maybe borrowed lights used by search parties? Readers, how could I have not noticed?
"Is that a tube top?" asked another woman who came tolunch. I was still trying to figure out how I chose the so non gryffendor color, when I responded to the comment by looking down at th scarf, giving my best deer caught in the headlights look. Nooo, it's a Harry Potter scarf! At this point, we're all laughing at what appears to be the new "not a HP scarf tube top " project. Sometimes knitting projects are like those go-bots or bionicles kids play with... they can turn into anything!!!
After work, I went to my LYS and bought the perfect shade needed (really!)and started a new HP scarf. What about the other scarf you ask? (I'm going to tell you anyway!) It's going to be a tube top or a tank top for the woman who ask the question. You never know what asking a question can bring you. 8-)
Get going, knit!

Clark and Lorna
I came home to find Clark floating belly up and he was definitely not doing his "fish of steel" thing to save Lorna from one of his archememies (or a fallen plastic tropical plant). What am I talking about you ask? My two siamese fighting fish. In October, I went to a fall rally with some friends. While purusing a craft table, I discovered a woman selling male & female siamese fighting fish. Looking at them and feeling sorry they'd been stuck in bags all morning, I bought 2 of them. How could I go wrong @ 2 dollars apiece, including the bowl and some starter food.
I didn't know these were siamese fighting fish. The label on the plastic bag said "betta fish". As you might have guessed by now, I know "jack" about fish! I said to the woman, "I'll only need one bowl, because I'm putting them together. I got a look of horror from other people around me who shouted in unison "You can't put those fish together, they'll kill each other!!!" My response... "Anyone wanna take bets?" (just kidding, don't anyone call peta ! ). Anyway, I bought them and fretted the rest of the day whether they'd survive until I got home and once there, would I be a good betta fish parent? I'm great with my two cats!!!
With instructions for the care of betta fish, I went to the local Petco and bought a special betta bowl with a divider, so they could lovingly look at each other, yet not do each other in. Now, what to name them... I'm a big fan of the WB show Smallville, hence the names Clark and Lorna. I also thought it was fitting because as much as Clark and Lorna love each other, they can never really be together! (I'm such a romantic!)
Things were going great and I thought I was doing well taking care of them...until tonight. Lorna looks a little forlorn, not having clark to flare at. I think maybe I should get Lorna a new friend for the other side of the fishbowl. What do you think? Bye Clark. I'll miss you swimming to the top of the bowl every evening for your dinner.
On the knitting front I'm working on my Harry Potter scarf. More on knitting tomorrow!
